WealthStream will not reach the firms that need us through direct sales alone. The wealth management industry runs on ecosystems — custodians, technology platforms, consultants, industry associations, compliance networks, and the trusted voices that firm leaders actually listen to. The Head of Strategic Partnerships will build WealthStream's presence inside those ecosystems.

This is not a business development role where you hand out co-marketing briefs and track referral counts. You will be building genuine, strategic relationships with the organizations and individuals who shape how advisory firms think about their future. Your job is to make WealthStream the answer that keeps coming up when firm leaders ask the people they trust: "How do we get better as we grow?"

The firms that win will be the ones that can scale judgment, not just workflow. You will help the industry's most influential players understand that — and position WealthStream as the company that makes it possible.

What You'll Do

  • Identify, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships with custodians, wealth management platforms, technology providers, industry consultants, and ecosystem players who serve the RIA and advisory market.

  • Build distribution channels that go beyond referral agreements. Design partnership structures — integrations, co-selling motions, embedded offerings, advisor development programs — that create real value for both sides and put WealthStream in front of the right firms at the right time.

  • Develop deep relationships with custodian business development teams, platform strategists, and consulting firms. Become the person they call when a client firm asks about advisor quality, talent development, or scaling without diluting their standards.

  • Own the partnership pipeline and revenue contribution. Track, measure, and optimize how each partnership drives qualified opportunities, accelerates deals, and deepens WealthStream's market position.

  • Collaborate with product and engineering on integration partnerships. Understand what technical connectivity matters most to the ecosystem and advocate for the roadmap priorities that unlock distribution.

  • Work with marketing to develop co-branded content, joint events, and thought leadership that reflects WealthStream's philosophy — not generic partner marketing, but material that actually advances the conversation about advice quality.

  • Represent WealthStream in industry forums, advisory councils, and partner events. Build a reputation as someone who understands the ecosystem deeply and brings a point of view worth hearing.

  • Shape the partnership strategy as the company grows. Define which relationships matter most at each stage, where to invest, and how to build an ecosystem moat around WealthStream's position.

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, or ecosystem strategy in wealth management, fintech, or financial services.

  • Deep knowledge of the wealth management ecosystem — custodians, technology platforms, consultants, compliance providers, industry associations — and how they influence firm-level decisions.

  • Relationship-driven in the real sense. You build trust over time, understand what partners actually need, and create structures where both sides win. You do not just collect logos.

  • Strategic and commercial. You can see how a partnership creates long-term value, but you also know how to structure deals, define metrics, and hold relationships accountable to outcomes.

  • Ability to translate WealthStream's philosophy into partner language. You understand that different ecosystem players care about different things, and you know how to frame the judgment-over-productivity message for each audience.

  • Executive credibility. You will be in rooms with custodian heads of strategy, platform CEOs, and consulting firm principals. You need to earn their attention and keep it.

  • Comfort building from scratch. This is a leadership role at an early-stage company. You will define the partnership function, not inherit one.

Nice to Have

  • Existing relationships with major custodians, wealth management platforms, or industry consulting firms.

  • Experience building integration or distribution partnerships with technology platforms.

  • Background in the RIA custody or platform space with firsthand understanding of how firms select technology.

  • Experience at a company where partnerships became a meaningful growth channel, not just a slide in the board deck.

The best ideas in wealth management do not spread through advertising. They spread through the ecosystem — through the custodian rep who mentions it in a meeting, the consultant who recommends it during a tech review, the platform partner who integrates it into the workflow firms already use. That is how an industry shifts.

WealthStream's thesis is that the firms that scale judgment will outperform the firms that just scale productivity. Your job is to make sure the ecosystem understands that thesis, believes in it, and helps carry it to the firms that need to hear it most.
